Journey of the Sea Glass

Journey of the Sea Glass

I received this in the mail today and could NOT wait to tell you about it! It is a book reminiscent of an era gone by, beautiful and simplistic yet a gorgeous story in each page.  What I loved?  No words, you write the story, and it can change each and every time the book is opened.  Fazio captures beautifully the joy and anticipation of the journey, both of boy and glass.  Well, I won't give 'my ending' away, this is your story to write, a book to enjoy day after day, year after year, with your children, grandchildren and beyond.  This is a story of life, how it evolves and takes shape.                   5 STARS

The Girl Who Helped Thunder

The Girl Who Helped Thunder

Retold by James Bruchac & Joseph Bruchac, Ph.D.
Illustrated by Stefano Vitale

The moment I saw this on the bookshelf, I knew I HAD to buy it, I was NOT disappointed.  The folkloric tales of persistence, courage, faith in ones heritage and joy in the simple things.  This book transcends all groups of peoples.  I loved the morals that each 'story' had to share. I was eager to read the book to the grandchildren, story by story, one at a time, so we all had a chance to savor the beauty and wisdom each tale had to impart to the reader/listener.                                 5 STARS
